The PrestaShop GPSR module shows on every product page the information required by the General Product Safety Regulation (EU) 2023/988: manufacturer, EU responsible person, importer, identifier, warnings, pictograms and documents. It completes them from your brands, categories and suppliers and tells you, product by product, what is missing. Compatible with PrestaShop 9.2 and with PrestaShop 1.7, 8 and 9, with no overrides.
What the GPSR requires from an online shop
Since 13 December 2024, Regulation (EU) 2023/988 (GPSR) requires every online shop selling in the EU to show on each product page the manufacturer with its postal address and electronic contact, the EU responsible person when the manufacturer is outside the EU, a product identifier and the warnings and safety information in the customer's language. Filling this in product by product across thousands of pages is not realistic, and PrestaShop does not do it out of the box.
GPSR data without filling in every product
The manufacturer comes from the brand and its address: one button imports every brand and, for own-brand shops, your shop details are the default manufacturer. The identifier is built from reference, EAN and MPN. Based on the manufacturer's country, the module asks for the EU responsible person only when needed. Everything is inherited on five levels, product > category > brand > supplier > shop, also per combination, with a view of where each piece of data comes from.
Warnings, pictograms and documents
Warning templates per product family (toys, electrical, batteries, cosmetics, textiles, childcare, furniture, kitchenware, sports, tools, chemicals, candles and jewellery) in 6 languages, and CE, GHS/CLP, ISO 7010, WEEE and 0-3 years pictograms. Documents (EU declaration of conformity, manual, safety data sheet or certificates) are assigned per product, category or brand, with a thumbnail of the first PDF page, language and expiry date.
You always know what is missing
A dashboard with the catalog score and the list of what is missing by type, a menu counter, an alert when saving a product, the "GPSR incomplete" column and filter in the product list, a home dashboard widget and a weekly email summary. Services, downloads and second-hand items can be excluded.
Safety PDF, labels, incidents and recalls
Each product page offers a safety sheet PDF and the public "Report a safety problem" form. Print labels (A4 sheet or 100×150 thermal) with a QR code to the product page, one by one or in bulk. Incidents are recorded, recalls notify buyers by email, the audit report comes as a PDF, the change history is kept for 10 years and the data is exported to notify in Safety Gate.
Import, export and your theme
Import your supplier's CSV with a preview and column mapping, and export the data with Amazon and eBay templates. The block can be a compact block, a tab, the product footer or its own hook, on Classic, Hummingbird and third-party themes, with manufacturer and brand structured data. Multistore, 6 languages, webservice and native PrestaShop 9.2 extra properties.
Frequently asked questions about GPSR in PrestaShop
Do I have to fill in every product by hand?
No. The manufacturer is taken from brands and their addresses, and whatever you set on a category, brand or supplier is inherited by its products. You only fill in what differs.
When do I need an EU responsible person?
When the manufacturer is established outside the EU. The module detects it from the manufacturer's country and warns you if it is missing.
Are the template texts legally valid?
They are a carefully worded starting point; each manufacturer must review and adapt them to its product.
Does it work with my theme?
Yes: the block can go in four positions or in its own hook, and it has been tested on Classic and Hummingbird.
Does it help with Amazon and eBay?
It exports the GPSR data with Amazon and eBay templates, and imports your supplier's CSV with a preview first.
Which PrestaShop versions does it support?
PrestaShop 1.7, 8 and 9, up to 9.2, with PHP 7.1 or later. No overrides and multistore-ready.
Does the module make my shop GPSR compliant on its own?
It is a tool that helps you gather, review and display the information the regulation requires. The data and warnings for each product are provided and checked by the manufacturer or whoever places it on the market.
