The PrestaShop Omnibus Directive module displays the lowest price in the last 30 days next to the crossed-out price of every discount, on the product page and in product listings. It keeps the final price history of every product and combination, calculates the reference price as the rule requires and shows it tax included and in the customer's currency, with no overrides and no extra load on your shop. Compatible with PrestaShop 9.2 as well as PrestaShop 1.7, 8 and 9 (up to 9.2, the latest version).
What the Omnibus Directive requires when you announce a price reduction
Article 6a of Directive 98/6/EC, added by Directive (EU) 2019/2161 (the Omnibus Directive), requires any announcement of a price reduction to indicate the prior price: the lowest price applied by the trader during a period of not less than 30 days prior to the reduction. Each Member State has transposed it into its consumer law, and national authorities enforce it.
The prior price, calculated correctly for every combination
The module records every change in the final price, whatever its source: the base price, a specific price, a catalog price rule or a scheduled discount that starts or ends overnight. While a discount is active, it takes the lowest price of the 30 days before the discount started and keeps it even if the discount is extended. You choose where it appears, the text in each language, the color, the number of days, whether it also shows on products without a discount or is hidden when it matches the crossed-out price, and which customer groups' prices are recorded.
Zero load on your shop
The history is updated whenever you save in the back office, via a cron URL, or automatically in the background while you work in the admin panel. The shop only reads a precalculated value, with no extra CSS or JavaScript, so page speed is unaffected. From the back office you can look up the price history of any product by ID, reference or name.
Ready for the CJEU ruling in case C-330/23
A single switch applies the criterion of the Court of Justice of the EU (CJEU) in case C-330/23 (Aldi Süd, 2024): the discount percentage and the crossed-out price are calculated from that lowest price, and if the product is not below that price, it is no longer shown as discounted.
Omnibus Directive in PrestaShop: frequently asked questions
What is the lowest price in the last 30 days?
It is the prior price that the Omnibus Directive requires you to show when you announce a discount: the lowest price of the product during at least the 30 days before the reduction.
Does it handle combinations, specific prices and catalog price rules?
Yes. It stores the final price of every product and combination per customer group and shop, including specific prices, catalog price rules and scheduled discounts.
Will it slow down my shop?
No. The calculation runs in the back office or via cron; the shop only reads a precalculated value, with no extra CSS or JavaScript.
Which PrestaShop versions does it support?
PrestaShop 1.7, 8 and 9 (up to 9.2, the latest version), up to 9.2. No overrides, multistore-ready and no personal data processed.
Does the module make my shop compliant on its own?
The module is a tool that helps you display the price the rule requires. What counts as a price reduction and how the rule applies to your products depends on your situation and on each country's law.
This module is a technical tool and does not constitute legal advice; check with your legal adviser how the rule applies to your shop. More info
