You can now create cookie groups by purpose, so cookies are grouped according to what they are used for and visitors can accept only the ones they want. The configuration options let you change the name and description of each purpose.

Besides displaying a notice banner, it is the only module that blocks third-party modules that use cookies until the user gives consent.

It also lets you customise the module to comply 100% with the new GDPR requirements (European Union). Our Cookie module supports the right to rectification: users can delete the cookies installed by the site simply by visiting a URL, or even from their own customer account.

• Obtaining consent

The user must click the “I agree” button on the notice banner to give consent. As soon as the customer consents, the banner disappears and all modules that use cookies are activated and work as usual. Users can choose which types of cookies they consent to by clicking the <> button and selecting the cookies they want to enable or not.

• Cookie blocking

The module blocks cookies until the user gives consent. Cookies can be functional (mandatory) or third-party, and the user can consent to each type separately. This complies with the law, as it distinguishes between the different types of cookies the customer accepts.

• Functional cookies (mandatory): cookies that are essential for the website to work, such as storing login details, the shopping cart, etc.
• Third-party cookies: cookies that collect data for tracking, targeting, analytics, etc.

To comply with the LSSI directives, we recommend disabling tracking modules (such as Google Analytics), social media modules (Facebook “Like” button, Google “+1” button, etc.) and targeted advertising until consent is given. Note that cookies required for your shop to work properly (e.g. the shopping cart cookie, the session cookie…) do not require prior consent.
