Does your online shop comply with EU law?
Check in 30 seconds whether your shop meets what the EU requires of anyone selling online: legal notice, right of withdrawal and its button, guarantee, cookies, discounted prices, product safety, accessibility and VAT. Free, no sign-up, with the fix for your platform.
What the checker reviews
It opens your shop like a new customer and reviews 21 points of European law in five groups: mandatory information (legal notice, contact, shipping, Omnibus discounts, GPSR product safety and green claims), contract (withdrawal policy and button, harmonised guarantee notice, terms and disputes), privacy and cookies (privacy policy, cookie banner and cookie policy), accessibility (EAA) and prices and VAT (VAT included, VIES and OSS).
How the score is calculated
Each point is weighted by its legal importance: those that can lead to a fine or a complaint (legal notice, withdrawal, guarantee, cookies, Omnibus) count three times as much as minor details. Compliant scores in full, needs improvement scores half and not compliant scores nothing. Anything that can't be seen from the outside, such as OSS VAT, is explained but doesn't lower the score.
What changes in 2026
Since 19 June 2026, every online shop in the EU must have a withdrawal button (Directive 2023/2673) as easy to use as the buy button. Since 27 September 2026, the harmonised legal guarantee notice must be displayed and generic environmental claims are banned (Directive 2024/825). These add to Omnibus (2022), GPSR (2024) and the European Accessibility Act (2025).
The fix for your platform
The checker detects whether your shop runs on Shopify, PrestaShop or WooCommerce and tells you how to fix each point on your platform. For Shopify and PrestaShop it also shows our apps and modules that solve it: withdrawal button, legal guarantee, cookies, accessibility, Omnibus and VAT.
Frequently asked questions
Is it free?
Yes. It is free, with no sign-up and no reasonable usage limit. We only ask for your details if you want us to help you fix things.
Does it replace a lawyer?
No. It is an automatic, indicative check of what can be seen from outside the shop. It helps you spot what is missing, but it is not legal advice: for a reliable review, consult a lawyer.
What is the mandatory withdrawal button from 2026?
Directive (EU) 2023/2673 requires online shops, from 19 June 2026, to offer a function for withdrawing from a purchase: an always-visible button with text such as "Withdraw from contract here", a short form, a confirmation button and an acknowledgement of receipt sent to the customer.
What is the harmonised legal guarantee notice?
It is a notice with a common design across the EU that informs the customer of their legal guarantee of conformity (at least 2 years; 3 in Spain). It has been mandatory since 27 September 2026 under Directive (EU) 2024/825, and if you offer a longer commercial guarantee, the harmonised label too.
What does the Omnibus Directive require for discounts?
When you announce a discount, the previous price you show must be the lowest the product had in the previous 30 days. Showing an inflated list price as the "before" price is a misleading practice.
What must a cookie banner look like?
It must ask for permission before installing analytics or advertising cookies and let people reject as easily as accept: a "Reject" button on the first layer, the same size and visual weight as "Accept". Until the visitor accepts, no tracking may load.
Does my shop have to be accessible?
Since 28 June 2025, the European Accessibility Act (Directive 2019/882) requires online shops to meet standard EN 301 549 (WCAG 2.1 AA) and publish an accessibility statement. Only microenterprises with fewer than 10 employees and up to 2 million euros in turnover are exempt.
Does it work with any shop?
It is designed for Shopify, PrestaShop and WooCommerce, and detects the platform automatically. With other platforms it also analyses the main points, although the advice is general.
